I had the pleasure of making this very special custom locket.
The wheat grains are from a field where the customers brother sadly passed away after the plane he was in crash landed in it. It’s hard for me to even share this with you in a post so for the customer to share this with me, and entrust me with an object so personal to her was an honour. Where I’m from we call such treasures Taonga.
Attention to detail and care goes into everything I make and the stories behind the pieces (like this one) never leave my subconscious while I’m making them. Sometimes jewellery can be superficial so to connect the human spirit to an object with jobs like this is real cool!
